 <\/p>\n

Today I felt in my nostrils
\nthe powerful smell of the sea,
\nbut, sweetheart, it wasn\u2019t that sea
\nwhere we both strolled together,
\nalong dimly-lit beaches of hope,
\nwhere for instants I dreamed that
\nyou<\/em><\/strong> could be the whole universe \u2013
\nand nothing more beautiful, ever! <\/p>\n

Today that same sea takes me far,
\noh! so very distantly far from you,
\nlike a new mermaid that lures me
\ntowards unknown, remote, dangerous
\nwaters, or uncharted dunes in the desert,
\nwhere a final destiny \u2013 an end-of-the-line \u2013
\nimpatiently ambushes impossible dreams… <\/p>\n
