A city<\/p>\n

full of echoes,<\/p>\n

but, for me, not Italian \u2013<\/p>\n

all Shakespearean echoes \u2026<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\n

Your skin, so white,<\/p>\n

so soft, was Juliet\u2019s skin.<\/p>\n

Your eyes were hers.<\/p>\n

Your tender kiss a mere caress,<\/p>\n

just like your words,<\/p>\n

sparkles in the darkness.<\/p>\n

\n

 <\/p>\n

There followed no<\/em><\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n

enchanted evening, but only<\/p>\n

an empty, lonely train,<\/p>\n

going \u2013 perforce \u2013 the opposite way,<\/p>\n

all risk \u2013 perchance \u2013 thus<\/p>\n

neatly avoided!<\/p>\n
