SERVUS SUM! (Or: UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS)

For ‘Gez’

I don’t want to bore you with the usual silly words
– lovely, gorgeous, stunning, beautiful, etc. etc. –
but every time I see you I do simply forget again
all serious promises I made myself just yesterday.
And, if you speak so softly and look at me like that,
or if, worse still, stretch out your hand to touch me
(or even only feel the fabric of that shirt you like so),
do you think it possible for me not to dream of you?
Unless I should still manage to keep some self-control,
id est not lose it all, remembering that you – domina es!

Precious visitor, after reading this poem, a brief comment, even just a greeting – added below – or a ‘Like’ only costs you a very small effort, but will please me GREATLY, on finding it! Thank you.   :O)

I hadn’t written anything in English for a while, so this poem was overdue, in that sense. I speak too little English at the moment, to be stimulated to write in it… I’ve put a bit of everything in it – not least a touch of self-irony – and the source of inspiration is a rather unusual one! ;o)
